How to make curtain tiebacks with your own hands, how to attach them and how to tie curtains with tiebacks, these are the questions to which you will find the most creative answers here. And we will make tiebacks from a plastic bucket, and from expensive jewelry, and from buttons, and from portraits of pets. Knitting lovers will discover ideas for knitted tiebacks that are harmonious and stylish. Ordinary curtain holders will be decorated with luxurious fabric flowers.

Tiebacks are needed to hold the curtains, covering the window panel in a measured and beautiful manner. And the curtains don’t necessarily have to swing open like a book. They can break the idea of ordinary life by simply “fastening” a button to the wall.

How are the tiebacks attached, what can they be attached to to highlight the beauty of the room. And the window dressing will be incomplete without tiebacks that will emphasize the style, color, purpose of the interior in general and curtains in particular.

This creative selection of photos and master classes will help you make the most outstanding curtain tiebacks with your own hands.

How tiebacks can hold curtains

Let's start with the fact that a tieback can open a curtain like this:

Or like this:

Or like this:

Please note that the angle at which the curtains are grabbed changes, thereby changing the pattern of the window opening. This technique gives additional features for interior decoration.

Not only fabric tiebacks can hold curtains. An alternative to such holders can be magnets. However, not everything is as simple as in the next video, because on very light curtains, when tacked from the side, the entire curtain will tend to the center, and the weight of the magnet will have an effect. And for curtains that are too dense and heavy The strength of a small magnet may not be enough.

What to hold the grips on

How to attach the tiebacks that we will create with our own hands.

Maybe just go ahead and sew a button to the wall:

Great way. However, the situation is much simpler.

Metal threaded loops like these are screwed to the wall:

Or, even cooler, a special set of hook and eyelets:

Or buy special holders:

The choice of such items is huge, but an enterprising interior decorator will not resist the opportunity to improve and decorate and will tie everything that can be tied.

You can decorate a standard holder using a photo of your favorite cat, stick the photo on the holder and varnish it. Well, after this, who will say that an expensive, sophisticated holder is cooler than your homemade, striped one?

Compare. After all, you must agree, the one on the right is cuter. Let's not forget that our beauties live in our houses, which are also their houses,

Good afternoon, dear friends, all readers and guests of the blog!

The summer season has already given way to autumn, and at the same time our interior is also waiting for changes. In order not to be monotonous and boring, let's introduce a little novelty into it.

For example, let’s make new curtain tiebacks with our own hands.

If you remember, we already said that in order to update the interior, it is not necessary to renovate or buy new furniture. Update it with bright details, just hang new curtains and make beautiful curtain tiebacks. And you don’t even have to change the curtains.

I suggest you crochet tiebacks!

Meet on the Internet different ideas decorative and original tiebacks for curtains: not only with classic tassels, bows, ties, but also from buttons, beads, plush toys, porcelain cups, keys, chains and others.

I think not everyone creative ideas in reality they are acceptable, but it is quite possible to tie curtain tiebacks with your own hands. I tried making samples and applying them to my curtains. I liked it very much. It looks so unusual, bright and expressive! And at the same time it is very appropriate.

Openwork tieback for curtains

It is better to knit openwork curtain ties using cotton yarn using crochet number 2.

We collect a chain of 127 VP and knit according to the pattern.

At the beginning of each row, naturally, as usual, there are several VPs for lifting.

1st row: 2С2Н, 3ВП. We received a narrow braid.

From the second row we knit on both sides of this braid.

2nd row: single crochet (in the corners on the end sides there are three sc from one loop of the base, also in subsequent rows).

3rd row: 1СБН, 2ВП.

4th row: arches of 10 VP, connecting loop in every third column of the previous row.

5th row: 1СБН, 1С1Н, 9С2Н, 1С1Н, 1СБН over each arch. Between the double crochets we knit a picot of 3 VPs.

At the ends of the knitted tieback you need to knit loops from VP chains for mounting on the wall.

You can insert a satin ribbon into the finished knitted tie.

Knitted curtain tiebacks with flowers

Let's look at three options for tiebacks for curtains with flowers.

In the first version crochet openwork braid and flower.

For the braid, we cast on 13 VPs and knit with double crochets according to the pattern, either increasing or decreasing the width of the row.

The flower consists of two parts. The schemes here are completely simple: big flower We knit in only 4 rows, and the core is knitted from two rows.

We sew the core to the flower and decorate it with beads and rhinestones.

We attach a flower to the braid.

Next option Curtain ties are also easy to make with your own hands.

You need to knit a simple narrow braid with single crochets, and tie several long ropes of air loops at its ends.

Sew simple multi-colored crocheted flowers onto these ropes.

Wrap the tie around the curtain and tie it.

Third option– these are curtain tiebacks – roses.

You can, of course, make roses from satin ribbons, if you know how. This one will be amazing beautiful pickup. You can even pin up live roses, of course, this option is short-lived.

But knitted roses will last a long time.

How to make a tieback for curtains with roses?

Also, as in the second option, we knit a simple braid with single crochets or double crochets, as you like, do not forget to make loops at the ends.

We sew lush, voluminous knitted roses onto the braid. I already talked about how to knit roses in an article about a rug with roses.

In addition to the knitted rose, you can also knit a core, as in the first version of the pick-up with a flower.

Curtain tieback with satin ribbon

Another interesting option I found curtain tiebacks with my own hands in the magazine “100 knitting ideas for home" is a knitted tie-back connected to a satin ribbon.

It is proposed to knit such a pick-up from yarn of a mixed composition with Lurex using garter stitch knitting needles. Or you can also crochet with single crochets. Pickup length is about 110 cm.

We wrap the knitted braid with a satin ribbon and sew it in several places.

At the ends we sew additional satin ribbons of two colors.

We wrap the curtain with a tie-back twice and tie a bow of satin ribbons. Beauty!

Good afternoon friends!

Somehow I found out that there are knitted tiebacks for curtains. I loved it so much! Last year, after renovation, I crocheted tiebacks with large flowers. It looked very nice.

And then I saw such an interesting picture and an unusual pattern for scoops that I was inspired to make just these, my flowers simply faded in front of them.

The opportune moment came completely unexpectedly - out of the blue.

Necessary materials for knitting a tieback

Immediately I tried to knit a tie from the leftover yarn I had, but it was all a bit thick and nothing good came out.

For this elegant tie-in, only fine cotton yarn is suitable.

While I was planning to buy something similar, time passed, and in the summer there was no time for knitting.

The first day of my vacation began with a breakdown in the Internet. As explained in technical support, there was a major hacker attack and TP-Link equipment failed. This story happened all over the country, maybe someone also encountered it? After reconfiguration, the router only worked for two days.

I had to buy and set up a new one. Since I myself don’t understand anything about this, I turned to the communication service specialists. But with our disorganization and bureaucracy, it took a whole week! I won’t go into details, but I was a lot nervous and sat without the Internet for so long.

And we were already so used to him, we missed him so much these days, and besides, I was worried about how my sites would be without me.

When I went to the center to buy a router, I went to the fix price store, I had already discovered excellent yarn for knitting: two skeins for only 55 rubles! Only the assortment is very small or they were sold out quickly.

So now I'm trying to go there more often. And this time I was actually waiting for yarn to match my curtains - light orange or salmon, I don’t know what to call this color better.

In a skein of 50 grams - 200 meters, 70% cotton, 30% viscose, called “peony”.

For the trim, I found a similar gray yarn at home.

For both tiebacks, one skein of the main color was used (a little thread was not enough to knit one last row, I had to open another skein) and about 25 grams of gray.

While there was no Internet, I cooked caviar from zucchini and just tied the hooks together.

I took the hook number 1.5.

During the knitting process, the product began to take on a rounded shape, I no longer began to unravel, but I think that I should still use a thinner hook and knit more tightly.

Description of knitting a pick-up with photo

We begin to crochet a curtain tieback by casting on a chain of the required length, I cast on 54.5 cm. In this case, the number of loops should be a multiple of 9 (the number of repeat loops) +1. I counted by 9, it made it easier not to lose count.

We knit rows from 1st to 7th with single crochets, changing the color of the thread in each row. There is a slight inconvenience - when changing the thread, there are ends that will have to be hidden. You can avoid this by changing the thread every other row, so it doesn’t have to be torn off. But in this case the thickness of the strip will double, I don’t know if it will look good.

8th row, main color thread: 2VP, arches of 16 VP, 1SC in every 8th loop of the previous row.

9th row: in each arch we knit 3СБН, 4С1Н, 1С2Н, 3ВП and in the reverse order - 1С2Н, 4С1Н, 3СБН.

10th row, attach a gray thread: in each column of the previous row I knitted a single crochet, although the diagram shows a half-column (connecting), in the arches - 1СБН, 2С1Н, 1С2Н, 2С1Н, 1СБН.

11th row, again a thread of the main color: 2VP, 11VP, 1SC in the center of the petal, 11VP, 1SC between the petals.

12th row: 3СБН, 4С1Н, 4С2Н, 5ВП, 4С2Н, 4С1Н, 3СБН.

13th row: as in the 10th row, single crochet with gray thread, in arches - 1СБН, 2С1Н, 3С2Н, 2С1Н, 1СБН.

14th row, change the thread: 2VP, 13VP, 1СБН.

15th row: 3СБН, 4С1Н, 6С2Н, 6ВП, 6С2Н, 4С1Н, 3СБН.

16th row, we attach the gray thread to the side of the straight stripe, in the diagram - at the level of the 7th row, but I attached it to the 1st and immediately made a loop of 6 VPs. We will then hang the catch on a hook for it. We tie the pick-up with single crochet stitches, we knit 4СБН, 3ВП, 4СБН into arches.

On the reverse side of the grab we also make a loop of 6VP.

The pickup is ready, hide the ends of the threads from the wrong side, smooth the petals with an iron.
