Foam generator gpss 600 passport. GPS foam generators

The 80 mm PS-2 foam mixer is designed to produce an aqueous solution of a foaming agent used to form foam in medium expansion foam generators in accordance with GOST 12962-80 and air-foam barrels in accordance with GOST 1101-93. Foam mixers are produced with connecting heads in accordance with TUU 29.2-30711025- 12-2001, suction hoses in accordance with GOST 5398-76. Operating principle of PS-2 The operating principle of the foam mixer is as follows: water under operating pressure enters the nozzle, and from it into the neck of the housing diffuser. A vacuum is created in the housing cavity adjacent to the nozzle, due to which the foaming agent is sucked along the hose into the housing diffuser, where it is mixed with water. The resulting foaming agent solution is then supplied through pressure hoses or pipelines to the GPS-600 medium expansion foam generator. To prevent water from entering the container with the foaming agent in the event of a sudden increase in pressure, a check valve is provided at the outlet of the foam mixer (for example, when the pressure hoses are broken). Maintenance of the PS-2 foam mixer The PS-2 foam mixer is designed to work in hose lines and pipeline systems with a nominal bore of Du-80. Behind the foam mixer there must be a straight section of the pipeline with a length of at least 500 mm, after which a branch can be installed. When choosing the length and diameter of the hose lines, as well as when designing pipelines, one should be guided by the water flow indicated in the table and the maximum permissible headwater. It is also necessary to take into account that the total flow of water from the foam concentrate passes through the hoses behind the foam mixer. The resistance of the pipelines connecting the foam mixer to the GPS-600 generators must be such that: - the pressure at the outlet of the foam mixer does not exceed the limit values; - a pressure of 0.4 is ensured -0.6 MPa in front of all GPS-600. Limit value of the foam mixer level in the tank: - 0.3 m below the axis of the foam mixer - lower level; - 2 m above the axis of the foam mixer - upper level. Preparing the foam mixer for operation involves laying hose lines and connecting them to the foam mixer and GPS-600 generators. In this case, it is necessary to ensure the direction of water movement indicated by the arrow on the body of the foam mixer. Periodic checking of the serviceability of the foam mixer is carried out when it is operating on water instead of a foam concentrate. The water inflow should be in the range of 0.30-0.36 l/s. Foam mixers must be stored in conditions that exclude exposure to atmospheric precipitation. Transportation of foam mixers in containers and by road is carried out without packaging in containers, provided they are protected from damage. Foam generators, foam concentrates, foam mixers

GPSS medium expansion stationary foam generators are intended for use in permanent installations foam fire extinguishing vertical steel tanks with flammable and flammable liquids.

In accordance with PB03-605-03p.8.4. stationary GPSS foam generators are included in mandatory systems automatic fire extinguishing tanks for oil and petroleum products. Installed on RVS tanks with a volume of 5000 m3 or more.

The operation of GPSS generators is based on the production of air-mechanical foam from a foam concentrate to extinguish fires. Foam covers the surface of the product in the tank, blocking the access of oxygen and stopping the combustion process.

The device is a water-jet ejector apparatus. The foaming agent is supplied under pressure to the sprayer, where it is mixed with air. When this mixture passes through the mesh holes, foam is formed at the outlet, which enters the gas-air space of the tank.

GPSS foam generators are produced in climatic versions U and UHL of placement category I, in an atmosphere of type P GOST 15150.

Description

GPSS stationary medium expansion foam generators are an element of stationary foam fire extinguishing installations for vertical tanks with a volume of more than 5000 m 3 at oil and gas enterprises and warehouses.

Foam generators of the GPSS series are mounted on the upper belt of RVS tanks.

Modification of the stationary foam generator GPSS-2000A prevents a decrease in foam pressure due to the guide casing.

Operating principle of medium expansion foam generators GPSS

GPSS foam generators produce medium-expansion air-mechanical foam from an aqueous solution of a foaming agent, form a jet and supply foam to extinguish a fire. This foam generator is suitable for the above-layer fire extinguishing method. When there is a fire in a tank with a fixed roof, foam is applied to the entire surface of the ignited oil product. In tanks with a floating roof or pontoon, the annular space between the tank wall and the metal diaphragm of the floating roof or pontoon.

Air-mechanical foam localizes areas of fire, reduces the evaporation of liquid, and hence the emergence of new flammable vapors, and significantly reduces the temperature of the burning product.

Foam does not have a harmful effect on most materials and equipment, and does not create additional load on structures due to its low volumetric weight.

Design of stationary GPSS foam generators

The body of the GPSS foam generator contains a sprayer and a cassette. At the bottom of the case there is an air intake hole with a protective mesh.

The solution line for supplying an aqueous solution of the foam concentrate of a stationary fire extinguishing system is connected to the generator through the inlet on the flange. In front of the sprayer there is a damper, which is one of the arms of a two-arm lever installed in the foam generator body on a hinge.

When the fire is extinguished, the foam solution is supplied under pressure to the generator. Under the pressure of the jet from the sprayer, the damper rotates around the hinge axis and removes the fork from the stop. The tension of the rod disappears, under the pressure of the jet of foaming agent solution, the lid rotates around the hinge axis by 90° and opens the outlet of the generator. The sprayer creates a jet of foam in the form of a torch falling onto the surface of the cassette. The mesh surface of the cassette creates many foam bubbles due to air injection through the intake hole at the bottom of the body. The foam created in this way is directed into the gas-air space of the tank to extinguish the fire.

Design and principle of operation: (see picture below)
The inlet of the foam generator is located on flange 3, to which the solution pipeline of the stationary fire extinguishing system 6 is connected.
Installation and fastening of the foam generator on the tank is carried out using a mounting flange 2, which has an outlet hole closed by a cover 9, which is mounted on a hinge 10.
In front of the sprayer 8 there is a damper 11, which is one of the arms of a two-arm lever installed in the body of the foam generator 1 on a hinge 12.
The other end of this lever is connected by a hinge 13 to a fork 14. In addition, the two-arm lever is connected by a rope 15 to the handle 16 of the manual drive.
With its free end, the fork 14 is installed on the stop 17, secured in the foam generator body 1 with a bolt 18.
The rod 19 is attached at its ends to the cover 9 and 20.
The cover 9 is pulled to the edge of the outlet hole of the foam generator by a rod 19 due to the force created by the rotation of the nut 21 along the thread of the stud 20. In this case, the nut 21 with its end surface rests against the fork 14. The position of the nut 21 corresponds to the required sealing force of the joint of the cover 9 and the edge of the outlet hole foam generator, is fixed on the stud 20 with a lock nut 22.
A limiter 23 of the opening angle of the cover 9 is attached to the pin 20 and the rod 19.
The second end of the limiter 23 is bolted to the upper part of the housing.
To protect the lever system of the foam generator from damage, fork 14 is secured (only for the period of transportation) with wire 24.
The description of the initial position of the lever system and cover 9 corresponds to the standby mode of operation of the foam generator installed on the tank.
To use a stationary medium expansion foam generator in operating mode (during fire fighting), a foam concentrate solution is supplied under pressure to the generator.
Using the pressure of the jet from the sprayer 2, the damper 11 rotates around the axis of the hinge 12 and removes the fork 14 from the stop 17.
Under the influence of the initial tension of the rod 19 and the rotation of the damper 11, the fork 14 rotates around the axis of the hinge 13 and disengages from the nut 21. In this case, the tension of the rod 19 disappears and, under the pressure of the jet of foam solution, the lid 9 rotates around the axis of the hinge 10 at an angle of about 90° and opens the foam generator outlet.
Sprayer 2 forms a jet of foaming agent solution in the form of a torch falling onto the surface of cassette 3.
The mesh surface of the cassette 3 promotes the formation of many foam bubbles due to air injection through the intake hole in the lower part of the body of the GPSS-600 foam generator.
The foam created in this way is directed into the gas-air space of the tank to extinguish the fire.
